Wow! What a show!

The Kingdom Karactors Christmas Show was a huge success! We had a great turn-out, lot's of fun and a great story about Jesus's birth and the "real" meaning of Christmas. Many thanks to the Kingdom Karactors crew for all their work and enthusiasm!

Having never seen the show before, I didn't know what to expect. The first indication was when they pulled up out front with a van and trailer full of stuff! And I mean FULL.
Starting to setup the puppet stagesAfter unloading and moving to the Fellowship Hall, the setup began.

It's quite a "show" just to watch how everything goes together. The stage is a pipe frame with curtains that fill in the "empty" space. Really a neat design. There were 8 (or maybe 9) folks with the Kingdom Karactors crew and they were all working for over an hour and a half  just to set up!

The stage has it's own lighting and sound system. All they need is a little power (and maybe a little food) and everything else is self contained!

3 tier puppet stage with curtainsAfter the stage is finished, there is a whole wardrobe of puppets and props that are assembled behind the curtains. I'm not sure how all the people and props get in that little space but they sure do! Not only that, they can all move around during the show. And move they do! If you are taking photos during the show as we were, you had better be ready all the time! The show is fast and ever changing. Seems like every photo we took was followed by a "better shot" to photo. Really ran those little cameras!

Some shots during the show!

Puppet Show Snow Storm
The "snow storm"

I lost count of the characters during the show. In fact, you forget they are just puppets! Looking back on it, I probably remember more about the show than if the same message was from a sermon. (oops! I hope PJ doesn't see this!)
If the "snow storm" looks blurred, you're right, it is. I almost dropped the camera! I was poised ready to take the photo but when it came, it went "BANG" and there was snow everywhere! When I finally recovered, it was almost too late to take the photo. This show has a lot more than just puppets in it! It's action packed!

Puppet Show Bubbles in actionBubbles! More of the action! They must have a BIG bubble machine! That dude can pump some bubbles.

Note the manger scene in the front below the cast. The curtains opened during the show and the figures are animated. The show was continuing and all the kids (and adults too!) were focused on what was happening. I noticed a couple of the youngsters up front moving around so I went up the side to see what was happening.

Engaged! This was just too precious to miss! This little guy just couldn't stay away! He wasn't touching anything but he was definitely part of the scene! It was like he was in there with baby Jesus. I wish the crew behind the stage could have seen this! If they ever have any question as to the effectiveness of their message, this photo should answer it.  I don't think I'll forget this image for a long time!

Thanks for the memory Kingdom Karactors! Wow!
