Psalm 78:4
Tell to the generation to come, the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wondrous works that he has done.
Jim & Bonnie Blank owners and creators of Kingdom Karactors clowning and puppet ministry Statement of Faith: We Believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We Believe that the bible is God's written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative and without error in the original manuscripts. We Believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us and his return to earth in power and glory. We Believe in the personality and the deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of the new birth in unbelievers and indwells believers, enabling them to live godly lives. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin was alienated from God. Only through faith, can that alienation be removed by trusting in Christ alone for salvation which was made possible by His death and resurrection.

Kingdom-Karactors began its puppet and clown ministry in 1989. Our primary goal is to reach children, young and old, and bring Christ into their lives. As a result of many requests, we now sell our own handmade puppets, puppet stages and related accessories.

Our Vision:

To train in the arts, as a media, to bring the Gospel to the people of the world.
Psalm 78:4 Go tell the generations to come of the King and the wondrous things He has done.

Our Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Kingdom Karactors is tri-fold

  • To bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of the world through gifts and talents which the Lord has entrusted to us.

  • To train the leadership, teachers and future workers in the ministry, the art forms of puppetry, clowning, storytelling, illusions, ventriloquism, mime and drama.

  • To equip the saints with the supplies needed to accomplish effective ministry using these art forms.

A Little of Their History
Bonnie Blank getting started as a Christian clown
Bonnie and Jim Blank worked as real estate agents in Delaware and Maryland in the late 1980's. Bonnie and other realtors were asked to dress up like a clown during a real estate convention in 1989. That was when she first became aware of a Christian clowning ministry that was active in hospitals in Delaware. After the convention, she contacted Daisy Ding Dong. Daisy was one of the clowns that was active in church and hospital clowning in the area. The next day, she performed for a children’s hospital and quickly became part of the world of clowning.

Later that year, she attended a  Christian Clown Conference in Ohio. “I loved it,” Mrs. Blank said. “I was blown away. I came home and dove into it.”
Jim on the other hand was not nearly as enthused as Bonnie. He would tag along to help set up and perform other duties but had no intentions of becoming a clown. Bonnie continued to encourage Jim for about 8 months and he finally joined the act! Once he was involved, he found he loved it as much as Bonnie.

Beginning as puppeteers The following year, they returned to the Christian Clown Conference in Ohio and purchased 5 puppets. This was the beginning of their careers as puppeteers. They actually performed a puppet show for an audience of 10,000 people at the end of the show! Their ministry has evolved to be predominately a puppet ministry by now and their list of puppets have grown from five to hundreds! They have 7 prepared puppet shows they can perform and their favorite is the Christmas Show. The show is fast moving and involves the use of 50 different puppets. See a review of one of these shows they performed at Trinity United Methodist in Chesapeake City, MD.

The Blanks feel the response they get from the audience is priceless and makes their work worthwhile. They  perform for every denomination (or nondenominational)  because one of their main goals is to reach the children. Bonnie said  “I believe the children are our future. It is always amazing to me that God gave us something that is this much fun.”

Jim Blank getting started as a Christian ClownThe Blanks now attend Bethesda Church in Hinesville, GA but they still travel throughout the US for their ministry. They have paraded in the Disney World Main Street parade, the Hinesville Christmas parade and have been interviewed by officials with Focus on the Family. They have had articles written by the Associated Press for nationwide distribution and recently had a very nice article in the Coastal Courier in Hinesville, GA.

Bonnie and Jim spend most of their time in puppetry but they still find delight in performing as Happy and Merry Heart Christian clowns. Their goal is to see the ministry grow and to be able to go into more schools for better access to the children.

Money they earn from selling their puppets and accessories is used to help fund their ministry and pay the bills.
